Arts in the Square March 30-31

Don’t miss the 10th annual Arts in the Square. The event will take place March 30–31 from 11 a.m. – 6 p.m. More than 120 local and regional artists will be featured and will be selling their handmade creations. The artists compete in the following categories: Textiles, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metal, Photography, Wood, Fine Arts/Graphics and Pottery. Come to the festival to enjoy incredible art, listen to local talent and watch performing arts all while relaxing by the Simpson Plaza. The festival also assists a local charity, Frisco Family Services, by hosting an empty bowl booth. This is an event the whole family can enjoy! Apart from all the activities, performances and local art, there are award-winning restaurants on site where you can enjoy food and spirits.

PGA of America Relocating Headquarters to Frisco

PGA of America is relocating its headquarters from Palm Beach Gardens, Florida, to Frisco with an initial investment worth more than half a billion dollars. The headquarters will be a 600-acre mixed-use development. The PGA of America will employ 100 people. Under this agreement, two PGA Championships, two KPMG Women’s PGA Championships and potentially a Ryder Cup will be held in Frisco. The development will have two championship golf courses, a short course and practice areas totaling 45 holes; a 500-room Omni resort and 127,000-square-foot conference center; a clubhouse; several trails; and a retail village. The gateway of the development will be located at Rockhill Parkway and Legacy Drive. The 600 acres are primarily situated within 2,500 acres being master planned by Hunt Realty Investments. The development will be open to the public, as well as golfers. The golf course is planned to open in summer 2022.

 

Gala ONE 2019

Frisco Family Services will have its 25th annual Gala ONE on Saturday, March 23. The Gala is presented by Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano and will be held at Hilton Dallas/Plano Granite Hotel. The goal of the gala is to come together as ONE to help prevent hunger and homelessness in the community. The gala will include an evening of live music from the Emerald City Band and tastings from some of the area’s finest dining establishments. There will be a live and silent auction where the guests can bid on unique items and travel experiences. The night will end with the announcement of the raffle prize winner. Be a part of Gala ONE to make a difference and be a part of a community that cares and changes lives.
