TUPPS Brewery in McKinney is serving up art and science – cold and by the pint
Ben Franklin never actually said, “Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy” but he certainly should have.
At Tupps Brewery in McKinney, they take it a little farther: They believe beer is the perfect blend of art and science. They start with the art of beer – a big dose of creativity – and then they validate it with empirical observation: with their expert eye to judge the look, their noses to refine the smell and then with their palate to validate the taste. They embrace tradition but break the rules as well from time to time to create exciting new brews.
A few to try? Glad you asked. The American Wheat is brewed with wheat, citrus, coriander, and California ale yeast. This is a killer, crisp and refreshing year-round brew.
There’s also the the TIPPS IPA, an India Pale Ale brewed with Citra, Galaxy and Mosaic Hops. Bursting with tropical aromas, this IPA is loaded with citrus and fruit-forward hops.
The big one they’re rolling out this month is the McKinney Oktoberfest. Inspired by classic Munich Oktoberfest beers, but with the spirit of Texas craft, this ale brings a roasted flavor while remaining drinkable. Take three cans, fill your stein, and strap on your lederhosen…it’s time to chicken dance.
TUPPS is located in the historic Cotton Mill in McKinney. Check their calendar for live music nights and Crit races, or even book a tour at tuppsbrewery.com.
