Workshop: The Business of ART – The ART of Business
Mentor and fine artist Marty Ruiz is working together with Frisco Fine Art to put together a workshop to help your business navigate through the art world. This light-hearted, but informative workshop will be on March 1 at 10 A.M. Ticket prices are $75 for a 3-hour learning experience to help further develop marketing and presentation skills. This workshop is a small group experience so everything is interactive and divided into 3 50 minute sections. There will also be a special guest at the workshop – Alfonso Quiroz who has worked with Disney Animation and multiple artists. He will talk about art technology. Frisco College Baseball Classic
On the weekend of March 2 – 4, Frisco will host one of the biggest events in college baseball outside of the College World Series in Omaha – the Frisco College Baseball Classic! The weekend tournament will have two games per day with each team playing the other three teams in a round robin format. The four teams participating in this year’s classic are: Texas A&M University, Louisiana Tech University, University of California – Berkeley, and Baylor University. Together, these four teams have 2 National Championships, 14 College World Series Appearances, 70 NCAA Postseason Appearances, over 8,800 wins, and more than 700 MLB Draft Picks. The game times are as follows: 4 P.M. and 7:30 P.M. on Friday and Saturday and Noon and 3:30 P.M. on Sunday. The Baseball Classic will be held at Dr. Pepper Ballpark. Texas Pinball Festival
The annual Texas Pinball Festival is returning to Frisco! Guests from all over the world come to the largest festival of its kind. Running from March 16 – 18, all throughout the day, the Texas Pinball Festival will feature more than 400 new and vintage pinball machines. Visitors will also be able to play classic arcade games as well. The festival will be held at Embassy Suites and Frisco Conference Center. Both children and adults alike can compete in pinball tournaments throughout the weekend to test their skills and win prizes and trophies. In addition to parts, equipment, memorabilia, supplies, and demonstrations being available, there will also be a presentation by well-known artists and designers on Friday and Saturday. Arts in the Square
All art lovers will want to come out to Arts in the Square. The event will take place from March 24 -25, 2018 in the Frisco Square. Categories for artists to compete in are as follows: Wood, Fine Arts/Graphics, Glass, Jewelry, Leather, Metal, Pottery, Textiles, Photography, and Miscellaneous. Visitors will have the opportunity to sit and relax by Simpson Plaza, listen to local musicians, participate in interactive art activities, eat and drink delicious food and spirits from the variety of award-winning restaurants, and watch and observe incredible art.
