Sure, there’s online shopping available, but during Christmas time, nothing can replace the experience you receive when shopping in person. Whether it’s the pleasant sounds of the familiar Christmas caroles you hear, the sparkling light displays or the special menu items you can find in neighborhood restaurants and coffee shops, it’s the time of year we all look forward to.
Dallas-Fort Worth has many shopping places to choose from when marking your lists and checking them twice; starting from the southern point of the Dallas North Tollway all the way north to our home of Frisco!
Highland Park Village is an experience just about every Dallas-Fort Worth resident should include on their to-do Christmas experience list. An affluent North Texas city nestled between The Dallas North Tollway and Highway 75, the residents decorate their extravagant homes each year that offer some of the best Christmas light displays in Texas. If you don’t want to drive through the area, there are horse carriage rides available for a small fee. As for shopping, Highland Park Village offers a number of high quality apparel stores including high-end brands found no where else in DFW. Here you’ll surely find something special for each person on your list. Highland Park Village has a large history dating back to 1931, when it first opened as America’s first shopping center! On the first floor you are welcomed with a service center that is available to make your shopping experience more personal and efficient. Immediately entering you will find drop-off areas to easily return store items, convenient pop-up dressing rooms that allow you to try on clothing and reserve them online with our mobile app, as well as style experts available onsite to help you choose the best options for you involving fashion, beauty, weddings and more. There are new beauty brands to choose from, including Tom Ford, Giorgio Armani, Sisley Paris and Charlotte Tilbury. Heading upstairs, you will find a new department Via C, that will feature emerging designer labels. Top Shop is a young women’s popular clothing line exclusive to Nordstrom. The updated Home department holds a number of house necessities including bedding, dinnerware and house accessories. Feeling hungry during your shopping? The new restaurant, Bazille offers shoppers to take a break from their browsing to fill up on bistro classics including, sandwiches, brick-oven pizzas and refreshing salads. It has a fully stocked bar with large screen TV’s perfect for game days. An open kitchen is visible for a more personal dining experience. This is the perfect way to dine and shop. After driving a little further down the Tollway, just one mile north from The Star, you will run into a gem of a shopping center that is The Shops at Starwood. This center has it all! Legacy West, just off the Dallas North Tollway and Legacy is newly opened in 2017, and it does not disappoint. 300,000 square feet of shops and restaurants are offered in this space. Once your car trunks are filled and lists are checked off, head down to the last Christmas experience, Christmas in The Square in Frisco. Running through December 31st, this event drives over 750,000 visitors from around North Texas, annually. This year, gaze at the near twelve miles of 175,000 choreographed Christmas lights, experience the snow flurries every fifteen minutes on the sidewalks, enjoy the Christmas music, try out your ice skating skills at the ever popular, Skate the Square, or if you want to earn major points with your significant other, take them on a carriage ride through the square. When you get hungry, Frisco Square offers several restaurant options that cover whatever your food preference might be. Pizzeria Testa has some of the best wood-burning, authentic Neapolitan pizza with fresh ingredients from Italy! Are the out-of-town guests asking for some Tex-Mex? Mattito’s is a great option.
